This Privacy Policy explains how the developers of Naendi ("Naendi," "we," "us," or "our") collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Naendi application ("the App").
Information We Collect
Naendi is designed to operate without requiring users to create an account or provide personal information.
1.1 Location Information
Naendi may request access to your device's location (GPS) to provide location-based features.
Your location is used primarily to:
- Show places that are nearby.
- Determine your distance from a place.
- Verify that you are within approximately 250 meters of a place before allowing you to submit a report for that place.
Naendi does not require your location to create an account or identify you personally.
When you use the navigation feature, Naendi opens the navigation functionality through Apple Maps. Naendi does not provide or operate the navigation service itself.
Naendi does not intentionally store your continuous GPS location history.
1.2 Device Identifier
When you submit a report for a place, Naendi uses a device identifier to determine whether that device has previously reported the same place.
The device identifier is:
- Stored in iCloud together with the relevant reported place.
- Used to help prevent duplicate reports from the same device.
- Not used to create a user account.
- Not used by Naendi to identify you personally.
- Retained indefinitely unless the underlying data is removed or the service's data practices change.
Naendi does not intentionally collect your name, email address, phone number, home address, or other personal information through the App.
How We Use Information
Information collected or processed by Naendi is used only to provide and maintain the App's functionality.
Specifically, information may be used to:
- Provide nearby-place recommendations and discovery.
- Calculate your distance from places.
- Verify eligibility for location reports.
- Prevent duplicate reports.
- Maintain reported-place counts.
- Synchronize reported-place information between devices through iCloud.
- Diagnose and communicate errors when an operation cannot be completed.
Naendi does not sell your information or use it for targeted advertising.
Location Reporting
Naendi allows users to report information about places.
Before a report can be submitted, Naendi checks whether the user's device is within approximately 250 meters of the relevant place.
If the user is within the required distance, Naendi checks whether that device has already reported the place.
If the device has not previously reported the place, Naendi submits the report and increments the relevant report count through iCloud.
If the operation fails—for example, because of a network, iCloud, or other technical error—Naendi displays an alert explaining that the report could not be completed.
The device identifier associated with a report is stored with the reported place to help prevent repeated reports from the same device.
iCloud and Local Data Storage
Naendi uses Apple iCloud to store and synchronize certain application data, including information associated with place reports.
Relevant data may subsequently be downloaded to the user's device and stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Local storage is used to allow Naendi to access and work with the necessary application data on the device.
Naendi does not use SwiftData as a separate service for collecting personal information. It is a local data-storage technology used by the App.

Apple Maps
When you choose to navigate to a place, Naendi may open Apple Maps to provide directions.
Naendi does not operate the mapping or navigation service.
Once navigation is handed off to Apple Maps, the use of location information and navigation services is subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices.
Information We Do Not Collect
Naendi does not require users to create an account and does not intentionally collect personal information such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Password
- Home address
- Date of birth
- Profile information
- Payment information
The App may process technical information, such as a device identifier, for functionality such as preventing duplicate reports.
Data Sharing
Naendi does not sell, rent, or trade user information.
Naendi may rely on Apple's iCloud and Apple Maps services to provide certain App functionality. Information handled by those services may be subject to Apple's own privacy policies and terms.
Naendi does not intentionally share the device identifier associated with reports with advertisers or data brokers.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information used by Naendi and to limit its use to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Because Naendi uses Apple's iCloud infrastructure for certain data, the security of data transmitted to or stored through iCloud is also subject to Apple's security measures and policies.
Data Retention
Reported-place information and the device identifier associated with a report may be retained indefinitely for the purpose of maintaining report integrity and preventing duplicate reports.
Location information used by Naendi for nearby-place functionality and distance verification is not intentionally retained as a continuous location history.
Local application data may remain on your device until it is removed by the App, overwritten, or you delete the App or its associated data.
Children's Privacy
Naendi is intended for users aged 10 and above.
Naendi does not knowingly require or collect personal information from children.
The App may display information about various types of establishments, including restaurants, cafés, bars, and other venues. Displaying information about a venue does not mean that the venue's products or services are available to users of every age. Users are responsible for complying with applicable age restrictions and local laws.

Your Privacy Choices
You may choose not to grant Naendi access to your device's location. However, certain features that depend on location—including nearby-place functionality and location-based reporting—may not work correctly without location access.
You may also stop using Naendi or remove the App from your device at any time.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Naendi, its features, or applicable requirements.
